Curtiss, Wis, March 4th 1893

Dear brother-in-law,

I will also send you some words right away this time. I have often thought of writing, but time is sparse for a farmer in this country. I see you are tempted by America. That is why I want to inform you, in case you really do come next summer. But if you cannot handle the deal with the farm and old Mother without loss, I think you should wait another year until matters perhaps are less troublesome. There seem to be some changes in the law here, so that only Thingvalla Line has the right to transport emigrants to America next season, but I'm sure that will soon change again. If you will be coming this summer, I believe Fredrik Lie, Store Strandgate 2b [...] in Christiania is the Thingvalla Line agent, so he will be able to inform you. Please write to let me know how it is to be. If you are coming I would like you to bring 2 or 3 bowls, and a copper ladle, not too large. I guess I will be writing to you again before you come. Finally you must greet our old Mother - I am very grateful to her - for the great gift of which I deprived her, and a friendly greeting to you and all acquaintances.

M. Anderson

Please write soon.
