Kristiania, March 29th 1889.

Dear parents and siblings,

I do not have much to write about, but I can tell how we travelled.
When we arrived at Oroen they were not up yet. So we decided to rest at the tanner's. But when we came there they were not up yet either. We were the first of our party to arrive in Lillehammer.
Sina and Ole Restad did not arrive until later in the day. We did not leave Lillehammer until 4 in the afternoon. We rode on the ice for a while. All four of us sat in a sled and had good covers, so we were not cold. And there was another horse and a boy who transported our cases. We rested at a place called Storsanden. When we left from there it started raining. And it rained all evening while we travelled. At nine-thirty we arrived at a posting station in Ringsaker called Svendgaard. It was beautiful there. Ringsaker church was close by.
In the morning we mostly travelled on the ice. we arrived in Hamar just before the train was to leave. So we took the train and it went to Kristiania. As it became dark in the evening we checked in at Harald Haarfagres Hotel. We had a room together, Matthias and I, Sina and Ole Restad and Nils Seielstad. The others from Gausdal have a room in another part of the building. Matthias is so busy organizing everything that he has not had time to accompany us in town. But Nils and Ole have been with us, and Ole bought us dinner one day. We ate at Dampkjøkkenet. Many took their dinner there. And we visited Anne Enge and had coffee and cakes. And Harald Enge served us beer. I have to end now.

Live well and sincere greetings from
your Randi

I also spoke to Agnes.
